i used to draw all the time as a kid. i loved it. i used to tell people that when i grew up, "i would write books and draw the pictures for them." sometime in college i stopped drawing as much. every few years i'd give it a shot & start sketching, but it never really stuck. in february 2024, i was reflecting on this & i was pretty sad. i was looking at my old art and thinking like, "i wish i had kept drawing. i wonder how good i would be if i had just kept at it instead of stopping. what would my style even be?"
then i had an epiphany. i realized that there was nothing stopping me from drawing RIGHT NOW. i could literally just START DRAWING. so i bought a Wacom tablet for $50 and i downloaded Krita.
my idea was to just start drawing Garfields over and over until i got used to doing digital art (something i have no experience in except for making terrible MS Paint masterpieces, lol).
the garf holding up the giant stylus was inspired when i couldn't find my tablet stylus for like a week.
